Before you start
- Charge the trimmer fully (if cordless).
- Wash and completely dry your hair.
- Attach a guard (comb attachment). If you're new, start with a longer guard (e.g., 12–16 mm). You can always trim shorter later.
How to trim your hair
- Turn on the trimmer.
- Move the trimmer against the direction of hair growth using slow, steady strokes.
- Start from the sides, then the back, and finally the top.
- Go over the same area a couple of times for an even cut.
- If you want shorter hair, switch to a smaller guard and repeat.
For beard trimming
- Choose the desired guard length.
- Trim against the direction of beard growth.
- Remove the guard to define your neckline, cheeks, and mustache carefully.
Safety tips
- Don't press the blades hard against your skin.
- Keep the skin slightly taut when trimming sensitive areas.
- Be careful around your ears and neck.
- Never use a damaged or broken blade.
After use
- Turn off the trimmer.
- Remove the guard and brush away hair.
- If your trimmer supports it, rinse the detachable head with water.
- Dry it thoroughly and apply a drop of blade oil if recommended by the manufacturer.
- Store it in a dry place.
If this is your first haircut: Start with the longest guard. You can always make it shorter, but you can't put hair back once it's cut.
